About

Why is this site called pixelMAR? Raster images, such as the photographs on this site, have an infinite set of digital values, called picture elements or pixels. The word pixel is a blend of the words pix (for "pictures") and el ("for element"). A pixel is the smallest controllable element of a picture represented on the screen of a computer, tablet, or phone. Mar is simply Spanish for "SEA". Hence pixelMAR.

All images, graphics, and digital compositions viewed on this web site are the property of the photographer. These items are protected by United States and International copyright laws and may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated in any form without prior written permission.
