Haemulidae - Grunts

Grunts congregate during the day in small groups to large schools that drift in the shadows of reefs. At night , the nocturnal feeders scavenge the sand flats and grass beds near reefs for crustaceans. The name is derived from the sound produced by the grinding of their teeth.
