Night Photography

All the photographs on this page were taken at night. Most of these subjects hide by day and emarge at night. I inclueded parrotfish here because they bed down at night and change to night colors. The orange cup coral can be seen by day but extend their tenticles at night to feed. The toadfish are found only at night by zeroing in on the croaking sound they make. The red night shrimp are found by their glowing eyes. The basket star unfurls its arms only at night. Some octopus can be seen during the day, but the Caribbean Reef Octopus only comes out at night.
